Ordinance Brings By Centre To End Violence Against Healthcare Workers

 

From some information an ordinance has brought to end the violence against healthcare workers. The government will amend the Epidemic Diseases Act, 1897, and implement the ordinance. In a Cabinet meeting Union Minister Prakash Javadekar said that any violence against doctors, nurses and healthcare staff will be punishable. In such types of cases there will be 30 days period for investigation. For accused person there will be punishment of 3 months to 5 years with a penalty of Rs. 50000 to Rs. 2 lakh.

 

 

 

 

The healthcare workers who are trying to save the country from the novel coronavirus are facing some attacks. No incident of violence or harassment against them will be tolerated. Javadekar said that an ordinance has been brought that will implement after the approval of President. He also said if the vehicles of the healthcare workers are damaged then there will punishment of double amount of market value.
