On February 11 the votes were counted of Delhi Assembly Election. The eyes of people of Delhi were seeing for the victory between the two parties namely BJP and AAP. The result has come and in this election AAP got 63 seats and BJP got only 7 seats. The Congress party did not get any seat and therefore it lost its base in the state. There was the government of Congress party from 1998 to 2015. In this duration the party was led by Sheila Dikshit.
According to the rules of election, candidates get forfeited if he or she is failed to get 16.66 percent of the total number of valid votes in their constituency. If the candidate who are applying for the nomination of election that candidate has required to deposit Rs 10,000 Election Commission. These fees are needed for the Assembly Election.
There were 66 candidates of Congress party in which 63 candidates lost their deposit. RJD lost their four candidates. There were three candidates of the Congress party who saved their deposit. Those areas were Badli, Gandhi Nagar and Kasturba Nagar. Congress Randeep Singh Surjewala said in the press conference that the people of Delhi have given mandate against Congress party.
